This tapestry was sewn Circa 1860 by Miss Dinah Alexanders of Kendal.
The carved oak frame was made by Mr Sissons, a cabinet maker employed by the Levens hall estate, Kendal,
The wood used was from an oak tree felled on the Levens hall estate.
This tapestry depicting Charles I was handed down through 4 generations of the Abbot family who married in to the Alexander family.
